The Graduate School Graubünden promotes young academics. It is committed to continuing education, scientific exchange, networking, co-operation, publicizing research and the support of newly arrived researchers. The Graduate School is an institution Academia Raetica. The government of Graubünden issued a performance mandate on October 1, 2014, which provides the financial basis for the operation of the Graduate School Graubünden. Academia Raetica founded the Graduate School Graubünden on December 18, 2013.

In 2013, Academia Raetica signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ETH and University of Zurich that regulates the cooperation in the field of Life Sciences. The collaboration includes subject-specific training and education of doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers, training in general research competences, realization of interdisciplinary events and projects, the networking of the young academics, an exchange forum for mentors, and public relations.
