Eight young researchers from four institutions in Graubünden attended the two-day course “How to manage your research data” in Davos in order to get to know and apply best practices in research data management.
Know-how in the management and organisation of research data is increasingly becoming an indispensable prerequisite for ensuring the quality, durability and reproducibility of research. In addition, many funding agencies such as the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the European Commission (for Horizon 2020 and ERC grant applications) require that a data management plan be in place to obtain research funding.
The participants’ feedback for the course organised by the Graduate School Graubünden was very positive: “The lecturers (Dr. Aude Dieudé/Swissuniversities and Eliane Blumer/EPFL Library) were very competent. The class size was perfect. The lecturers were able to respond to each person individually. We discussed a lot and were given tips, tools and templates for implementation in our daily work.”
