Duri Bezzola became managing director of Academia Raetica and the Graduate School Graubünden in July 2015. He was born in St. Moritz in 1958 and lives with his family in Samedan. He studied Forest Sciences with a focus on mountain forest ecology (dipl. Forstingenieur ETH) at the ETH Zurich. He also holds an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen.
After working as a district forest engineer in Davos (1988-91), he worked as a project manager in forestry research in Rwanda (1992-94) and as a consultant in Bolivia (1994-97). After more project and consulting work in the area of habitat and tourism in the Engadine, he was part of the management at the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz (2001-13) and at Wenger Plattner Lawyers in Küsnacht/Zurich (2013-15). From 2006-14 he was a member of the Parliament of the Canton of Graubünden and its Commission for Education and Culture. As the commission’s spokesperson, he led the parliamentary debate of the Higher Education and Research Act (2012).
