LOCATION / TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTSThe course will be held online. The technical requirements are:
• a Skype account
• a webcam
• headphones (which can be plugged into the notebook or PC)
Each participant should be alone in their (home) office or alternative space to avoid any disturbances.
COURSE OUTLINE • Overview: important developments in Switzerland, new features of funding schemes, impact on young researchers
• Information about the most important funding schemes with focus on SNSF Career Funding, EU/MSCA (depending on status EU 2020)
• Plan, concept, and write a convincing grant proposal
• Most important features of a good research project plan incl. key-elements of a good research question
• Most important application documents for applications towards the SNSF Career Funding, information about the selection process; Do’s & Don’ts Self-assessment

Preparation by participants before the workshop to be send by April 14 to MATUSCHEK CONSULTING Details will follow after registration deadline
– CV and one most important question to the topic; questions will be integrated into the workshop

About the Trainer
Susanne Matuschek received her training as a biologist from the University of Konstanz. She has worked in research at universities and private industry for many years. During her eight years as program manager in the Career Division of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), she led two funding schemes for young researchers. She also chaired two European Working groups on the topics of a “Conditions of a Research Career in Europe” and “Gender Issues”. She has 17 years of experience in these topics. Since 2010, Susanne Matuschek runs her own company, MATUSCHEK CONSULTING, providing workshops, trainings, and coaching. More information:
